Euroscience Open Forum (ESOF) is Europe’s largest and most prestigious general science conference. It takes place every second year in a major European city. In June 2014 the conference will take place at the exciting and inspiring facilities of the Carlsberg City District, one of Copenhagen’s most vibrant urban areas. The conference is organised by the Danish Ministry for Science, Innovation and Higher Education and is supervised by the undersigned, who have been appointed champion of the event.
ESOF2014 Copenhagen will be a unique opportunity for leading scientists, young researchers, students, industry, policymakers, journalists and the public to discuss new discoveries and debate the direction that research is taking within all scientific disciplines. ESOF2014 Copenhagen is designed as an open platform for debating science and as a showcase for cutting-edge European and global research. The scientific programme is accompanied by an ambitious outreach programme designed for attracting the attention and excitement of citizens and visitors, including a special programme for the younger generation.
ESOF 2012 Dublin reached a level of attendance of 4500 participants, including 400 accredited journalists, 900 speakers and exhibitors, several Nobel laureates, ministers for Science and members of the European Parliament. ESOF2014 takes place Saturday 21st to Thursday 26th June 2014 and the event will also attract leading decision-makers from within science, industry and policy and generate extensive media coverage.
On behalf of the Danish Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, I am very pleased to invite potential stakeholders and sponsors to participate in this truly unique event. ESOF2014 will involve sponsors from an early stage of the planning process and will work to create an engaging and trustful collaboration with all stakeholders. This entails developing individual sponsorships with each partner through an exchange of ideas and dialogue.
In total ESOF2014 has a budget of € 5 million and aims to raise € 2 million in private sponsorships.
